Making A Difference at Chomp and Stomp

by EV Atlanta

Engel & Völkers Atlanta has always stood out for its deep ties to the local community, and this year’s Chomp and Stomp festival was a shining example of that commitment. Though not officially a company-sponsored event, a dedicated group of Engel & Völkers Advisors chose to step up and make a difference, volunteering their time and energy to support one of Atlanta’s most beloved festivals. Their participation, rooted in personal passion and a shared sense of community, highlighted the powerful impact individuals can have when they come together for a common cause.

The festival, known for its vibrant celebration of local culture, chili cook-offs, and live music, is a highlight of the year for many in the community. This year, nearly 350 volunteers contributed to the event’s success, and among them was a strong contingent from Engel & Völkers Atlanta. These volunteers weren’t just lending a helping hand; they were embodying the spirit of giving back, a value deeply held by each of them.

James Robbins, an Advisor and this year’s Volunteer Chair for the festival, played a pivotal role. Reflecting on his unexpected journey into leadership, he shared, “How did I become more involved, you might ask? Well, I simply showed up to a meeting this summer to learn more information on getting my neighbors involved and how I could help with recruiting volunteers. Little did I know that I would be stepping into the big role of Volunteer Chair, and it’s been an exciting process for sure.”

The decision by these Engel & Völkers Advisors to get involved was driven by a genuine desire to contribute to their community. They worked tirelessly alongside volunteers from all walks of life, helping with everything from setup to day-of operations and even post-event cleanup. Their efforts underscored the festival’s core mission of community and connection.

Sacha Rady, another dedicated Advisor, reflected on the experience of volunteering. “The event felt very well planned and thought out. It was great being able to connect with neighbors and people from around the community as we checked them in for the festival. As a sponsor of the event, nothing makes me feel better than giving back to the community for their annual fundraiser that I’ve personally attended for many years.”

The collective effort of volunteers like James, Sacha, and their peers from Engel & Völkers played a significant role in the festival’s success. Their involvement helped the event raise substantial funds, with last year’s total exceeding $250,000. These contributions go directly toward supporting local initiatives, ensuring that the impact of the Chomp and Stomp festival extends far beyond a single day.

For Adam Ballenger, another Advisor who volunteered at the event, the experience was both fulfilling and energizing. “What a great experience getting out and volunteering this year at the Chomp and Stomp event! It was great getting to help out within our community and the wonderful energy it can bring!”

While Engel & Völkers Atlanta is known for its professional excellence, it’s this kind of personal commitment from its Advisors that truly sets them apart. The Chomp and Stomp festival is a celebration of community spirit, and the contributions of these volunteers are a testament to what can be achieved when individuals come together with a shared purpose.

In the end, the impact of the festival wasn’t just measured by the funds raised or the number of attendees, but by the connections strengthened and the community bonds reinforced. Engel & Völkers Atlanta’s volunteers embodied this spirit, demonstrating that true leadership often comes from those willing to roll up their sleeves and give back to the communities they serve.
