6 Cheaper Places Boomers Are Moving To in 2025, According to Real Estate Experts

Another Georgia city that can be cheaper than others and is gaining boomer residents in 2025 is Northcrest.

Decatur, Georgia

Atlanta has become a hotspot for retirees, but it might be coming in second to the Georgia cities that Leah Robinson-Christian, associate broker at Engel & Völkers Atlanta, is seeing gain boomer residents in 2025. First up is Decatur.

“Recognized as the top place to move to in Georgia and ranked fifth nationally, Decatur appeals to those seeking a smaller urban environment,” Robinson-Christian said. “The city boasts homes priced below the national average of $343,000, making it an affordable option for many retirees. Its vibrant community and accessible amenities further enhance its appeal.”

Peachtree City, Georgia

Peachtree City, about 32 miles from Atlanta, is also becoming increasingly attractive to boomers in 2025.

“Known for its unique network of golf cart paths and a strong sense of community, Peachtree City is an appealing destination for retirees who value an active, outdoor lifestyle,” Robinson-Christian said. “With plenty of parks, lakes, and recreational opportunities, it offers a laid-back yet vibrant lifestyle. The area also has affordable housing options relative to other retirement-friendly cities, making it ideal for those looking to stretch their retirement savings.”

Northcrest, Georgia

Another Georgia city that can be cheaper than others and is gaining boomer residents in 2025 is Northcrest.

“Established in 1959, Northcrest offers mid-century modern homes that attract retirees interested in architectural charm and a strong neighborhood feel,” Robinson-Christian said. “Located just north of I-285 and approximately 11 miles from downtown Atlanta, it provides a suburban atmosphere with convenient city access.”
