Atlanta’s Midtown Skyline — Reaching New Heights

Atlanta’s Midtown Skyline — Reaching New Heights

The structure will feature 212,000 square feet of office space, 350 residential apartments.

There’s no doubt that Atlanta has attracted many high-profile companies over the last decade and this growth pattern doesn’t seem to be slowing any time soon. Midtown Atlanta specifically has gained an undeniable allure for many reasons, including its proximity to Georgia Tech’s candidate pool, access to the Southeast’s largest airport and MARTA, and the unprecedented lifestyle afforded to residents right at their doorstep. Midtown is consistently upping the ante in regard to its robust lifestyle offerings, especially with its expansion of retail, housing, and entertainment districts.

Colony Square, a Midtown hotspot, recently underwent a makeover, adding a range of lifestyle additions to the Midtown area. From an open green space for Wednesday night yoga to dining options from multiple regions, you can find all of this within the 700,000 square-foot renovation of the thriving mixed-use space.

Coming Soon to Midtown

In the Planning Phase

Indications in many recent releases indicate that the rapidly developing Midtown skyline could add four more brand-new high-rises soon, which will further redefine the skyline. Ranging from 26-61 stories, the proposed projects will continue to bring high-profile companies to Atlanta, thus continuing its growth trajectory from a relocator standpoint.

New York City’s Rockefeller Group is pursuing a 61-story venture called 1072 W Peachtree, which will soon stand as Atlanta’s fifth-tallest building in the Midtown Skyline. The structure will feature 212,000 square feet of office space, 350 residential apartments, and 6,600 square feet of retail space.

Selig Enterprises, a Midtown veteran when it comes to developing the skyline, recently released its second phase of 1105 West Peachtree, which has now been dubbed the Midtown Exchange. The project is said to feature a host of retail space, 465 residential apartments, and a 26-story office tower directly adjacent to the currently standing 1105 West Peachtree.

Spring Quarter

Perched atop the highest point in midtown sits another one of Atlanta’s newest mixed-use developments, the Spring Quarter by Portman Holdings. The first phase of this mixed-use space will consist of 370 residential spaces and 11,000 square feet of retail space. 1020 Sprint, the 25-story office space, will be located just northwest of the residential space, and a 225-key hotel is planned for a future phase.

The Spring Quarter by Portman Holdings is just the tip of ice iceberg for what is in the pipeline for Midtown. Midtown Alliance has recently announced that 17 projects are currently under construction around a 1.2-mile radius, and we will provide updates periodically.
