At Engel & Völkers Atlanta, we believe success is measured not only in transactions or milestones, but in the impact we make within the communities we serve. Each year, our advisors come together to support causes that reflect the values we hold close, service, compassion, and leadership through action.
One of the most meaningful traditions our team participates in is the Special Olympics Georgia Polar Plunge, an event that raises critical funds to support athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state. What began as a spirited community effort has grown into a powerful example of what can happen when people rally around a cause that truly matters.
Over the past six years, our team has had the privilege of raising more than $247,000 in support of Special Olympics Georgia. In 2026 alone, our advisors and supporters contributed over $50,000, helping provide year round sports training, competition opportunities, and life changing programming for athletes across the state.
Along the way, the Engel & Völkers Atlanta team has been honored to be recognized as the number one fundraising team, while Advisor Ken Covers has been named the number one individual fundraiser for six consecutive years. While these numbers are meaningful, they only tell part of the story.
For Ken, the Polar Plunge has never been about the icy water or personal recognition. It has always been about the athletes themselves.
Their resilience, joy, and determination are the true motivation behind every dollar raised and every year he shows up to take the plunge. The athletes of Special Olympics Georgia remind us that perseverance, teamwork, and heart can overcome any obstacle, and their spirit continues to inspire everyone involved.
This initiative has also been strengthened by incredible leadership within our community. Scott Askew continues to set a powerful example of service and commitment, while our remarkable team captains, Jeremy Smith, James Robbins, and Christin Coffin, have led this effort with dedication, enthusiasm, and purpose.
Together, they have helped transform a fundraising event into something much greater than a single moment. It has become a movement that brings our advisors, clients, and community partners together around a shared purpose.
The Polar Plunge is a reminder that when people unite around a common cause, the impact can be extraordinary. It is not simply about a fundraising goal. It is about creating opportunities, celebrating abilities, and supporting athletes who continue to inspire us all.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed, participated, or supported this effort in any way. Your generosity and encouragement were seen and felt throughout the entire Special Olympics community.
At Engel & Völkers Atlanta, we are proud to stand alongside organizations like Special Olympics Georgia and the athletes who remind us what true determination looks like. Because when community, leadership, and passion come together, the impact extends far beyond a single moment and creates something that truly lasts.
