Metro Atlanta’s luxury real estate market ended 2024 on a high note, and industry leaders are feeling increasingly optimistic.

Christa Huffstickler, founder and CEO of luxury brokerage Engel & Völkers Atlanta, told Atlanta Business Chronicle in an interview last month that the local luxury housing market may see more activity this year, based on the rising homebuyer interest witnessed in the final weeks of 2024.

“I think that you’re going to see more momentum and more movement in the luxury market [across] all product types: townhome, single-family and condo,” Huffstickler said. “That’s going to shape up to really contribute to a very good 2025 in the luxury space.”

Luxury home sales in the greater Atlanta area have dipped since December, but this coincides with a seasonal trend that has played out across the metro area for years.

At the same time, home sales for metro Atlanta properties priced at $1 million or higher just reached a historical high for the month of January, with the local market seeing a record 183 transactions, per First Multiple Listing Service data. This increase in the number of homes sold last month was spurred partly by a steep rise in new million-dollar listings hitting the market in 2024. The number of million-dollar homes available for sale also rose to a new January high of 1,420 last month, per FMLS, largely attributed to increasing metro area home values since the arrival of the pandemic.
